The beginning
In the beginning I enjoyed fingerpainting as a child the colors, the freedom, and the squishy feeling of Paine between my finger, then I started school and I heard teachers and other schools pass judgement on artwork, which just seemed wrong to me! T my young and impressionable age I over head ‘an adult’ say to bad Cindy is not artistic. Well as a child hearing that from a credible source I assumed that to be true... fret grade school.
I didn’t do another artistic project until I bought a house and had to layout colors at 40. Then I took up cross stitching and needlepoint for relaxation. After surviving non-Hodgkins Lymphoma 4 times in 5 years my dear friend Valerie nagged me into painting saying it would save my life. I reluctantly started painting with a set of craft paint that included the primaries and black and white. I started duplicating photos of artwork in magazines with Valerie coaching me as needed. The more I painted the more I loved it.
I learned to find my zen. That eas nearly 7 years ago and I am happy to say that I have remained in remission since then. I paint mostly mixed media and am I love with anything with pigment! I primarily classify myself as an intuitive painter now painting e pressions of my emotions, thoughts and spirit.
